Developed by multiple award winning producers DOUG ROGERS and NICK PHOENIX and recorded in a 125 million dollar concert hall by Grammy winning classical recording engineer PROF. KEITH O. JOHNSON, this enormous 24-bit 138 gigabyte virtual instrument eclipses all others with the highest level of fidelity and realism.
This library was accomplished through separately recording the natural hall ambience (NATURAL REVERB) after the instrument has stopped playing until the sound has actually ceased.
Each instrument and orchestral section is chromatically sampled at three different mic positions (close, stage and hall) allowing you to mix together any combination for the ultimate in real-time tone and ambience control.

A massive 14 Gigabyte Virtual Instrument that covers many typical, and some unusual instruments, from six areas of the World.
1. Africa
2. Americas and Australia
3. Europe
4. Far East
5. India
6. Middle East and Turkish Empire.
A lot of thought went into selecting instruments that would appeal to composers of all types, from Hip Hop, Electronic-dance music to film. You might want to put the middle eastern string section in your next pop tune, or the hardanger fiddle in a sweeping romantic score.
Every instrument or ensemble was sampled extensively, so the character of the instrument was preserved. Ethnic (or World) music is all about expression, and how the instrument is played. To sample a Turkish wind instrument and not capture the bending, swelling and wavering of the notes is to miss the point completely. Every instrument has many articulations and fx that range from very controlled, to very expressive. This allows you to actually “play” the instrument with authentic results.
This library was captured with a phase accurate 8-mic setup that gives a complete 3 dimensional image of the instrument. It is this type of sound that takes to artificial or sampled reverb extremely well. The sound is clear and broad. Mics used were Neumann U67 (U47s as alternates), Neuman M50, AKG C12 and Shoepps.
Another cool aspect of this virtual instrument is the fact that it was recorded with ethnic ensembles. This was done with African drums, bagpipes, gamelan and a Middle Eastern string section. The sound of these ensembles cannot be realistically simulated by layering solo instruments.

A plus for all TV, film and video game composers. This is the first 24-bit orchestral library with multilayered samples of every note recorded simultaneously from three different mic positions: close-up (C) for individual details; a front-of-stage array (F) for a full stereo sound; and a back of the room setup (S) to capture the natural reverb of the recording space. For Symphonic Choirs, producers Doug Rogers and Nick Phoenix have again teamed up with recording engineer Keith O. Johnson. Applying the same recording techniques (with the same equipment) in the same 125 million dollar concert hall, they've created a unique, high-end sampled choir library that installs from nine DVDs and weighs in at a hefty 38 GB.
That level of control makes the orchestral and the choir libraries ideally suited to 5.1 surround mixes. Working with the room's great-sounding natural reverb eliminates the need (in most projects) for external reverb units or plug-ins.
Symphonic Choirs includes a powerful application called WordBuilder that further raises the level of realism by enabling the sampled choirs to actually pronounce words and syllables instead of repeating the same sound over and over.
